Valuing Persons with Disabilities as Integral Members of Society

Advocacy champions positive change. In our context, we want to change individual and societal attitudes towards persons with disabilities and approaches to disability issues.

We believe that every person makes a difference, including those with disabilities. By advocating for disability inclusion, we are building a value system that will define us as individuals, organisations, and as a nation.

Advocacy starts with one person, a moment, a thought, an act of inclusion. Join us in unleashing our creativity and passions to advocate for a more caring and inclusive Singapore.

About the Collaboration

Initiated by North East CDC in 2019, Shaping Hearts was envisioned as an annual platform where persons with disabilities could build their future through art. Each artwork represents a step towards independence and recognition, showcasing talents that might otherwise go unnoticed. As Shaping Hearts has grown, so has our community's understanding of inclusion. We're creating a space in Singapore where art opens doors, improves lives, and enables everyone to contribute. Today, Shaping Hearts is Singapore's largest inclusive arts festival.

About the Collaboration

This special edition trucker hat features a unique design by 'Thaddino' with purple mesh panels and a purple bill.

In late 2022, we were contacted by Extra Ordinary People, a charitable, not-for-profit organization that supports children and youths with special needs. They introduced us to Thaddeus Chew, a gifted young man with a knack for drawing dinosaurs.

The moment we saw his artwork, we immediately knew it was something special. There was a certain confidence and consistency in his pen strokes, yet the caricatures of the dinosaurs also evoked a sense of fun and lightheartedness.

On behalf of Extra Ordinary People, Paper Rex, and Thaddeus, we hope you will support this collaboration, and enjoy these as much as we enjoyed working on them.

About the Collaboration

Ans-ein is a fashion brand offering products based on art. Ans-ein was founded in Singapore in early February 2017 by two mumpreneurs, Anseina (Ans) and Erlyn (Ein), who have different backgrounds but complement each other: Ans is an architect and wedding dress designer, while Ein has been in retail business, event and media. Both of us love art and have a desire to appreciate art in many forms; thus inspiring us to establish Ans-ein: a wearable art.
